FAQ's

The repossession process can be complicated, even for a professional. Asking questions when you don’t understand something is an excellent way to make sure you have all the information you need to make decisions that are right for you.

The following is a list of the questions we are asked most often.  If you have a question that isn’t on this page, don’t hesitate to contact us.  We’ll have an answer to you within 24 hours.

I’ve been told there’s nothing I can do once I’ve received a threatening letter from my mortgage company.  Is that true?

Not True.  Our advisors know the repossession process inside and out and can work out exactly how to resolve your particular situation.  Although it is much easier to sort things out early on in the process, we have stopped evictions just two hours before the bailiffs were due to arrive. We’ve even been able to stop a repossession after the family had been officially evicted!

There is lots of misinformation surrounding repossession.  The only thing you need to remember is that it is never too late to seek help.  No matter what stage you’re at, your personal advisor will be able to tell you what options are available to you.  Our goal is always to keep you in your home.

What are your fees?  Our advice service is completely free of charge.

You keep saying that you don’t charge any fees but you’re not a charity.  What’s in it for you? We aim to make our processes completely transparent.  Our success is wrapped up in yours.  We win only when you win.  Our income comes from helping you to restructure your debt, arranging for the sale of your home, and renting homes back to the original owners much like any private landlord.

What part of the UK do you cover?  We have national network of associates with concentrations in London and the North West of England.

How can I get in contact with you?  You can call us on 0800 061 2273 or you can fill in the online form.  A Lifeline advisor will contact you for a friendly, confidential chat within 24 hours.  If, after speaking to an advisor, you feel that we aren’t right for you or you need more time to think things through, that’s fine.  You are under no obligation at any point to continue the process.
